HOW MANY SCHOLARSHIP DOLLARS ARE AVAILABLE TO USE AT HCC AND HOW IS IT PAID?
Students take classes at Henderson Community College leading to an Associate’s Degree or industry certification.
There is a maximum of $2,000 of scholarship funds per student while at HCC ($4,000 available total per student, including funds for dual credit classes). While at HCC, up to $500/term, fall and spring terms (total value $2,000) is applied to the student’s tuition fees at HCC after all other aid and scholarships are applied - except for the first semester, which will reflect a deduction for any funds previously paid for a dual credit class.
Graduating high school students must complete a New Student Information Form and have it delivered to UCHS by June 30 of the year student graduates from high school. The HCC Financial Aid Office works with UCHS staff as students enroll at HCC to document recipients.
As long as the student continues to meet the requirements of the Braves 2 College scholarship criteria of cumulative GPA of 2.5 and minimum of 6 credit hours per semester the student will be entitled to up $2,000 of scholarships funds at HCC. (Student will still be eligible up to $4,000 total by transferring to another college).
Students may apply for four consecutive semesters (fall/spring) but may not stay out a semester. Students transferring after 2 years at Henderson must complete a transfer form for the new school.

HOW MANY B2C@UC SCHOLARSHIP DOLLARS ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW IS IT PAID?

There is a maximum of $4,000 of scholarship funds per student while at the university or an additional $2,000 of scholarship funds for students who have graduated from HCC (total of $4,000 for any student). The maximum includes any funds paid for dual credit classes while in high school. While at university, $500/term, fall and spring terms, is applied to the student’s tuition fees at the institution after all other aid and scholarships are applied--except for the first semester, which will reflect a deduction for any funds previously paid for a dual credit class (unless already deducted while at HCC).

DOES THE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OF $500/TERM INCLUDE BOOKSTORE TEXTBOOKS?
Yes – for both B2C at HCC and B2C at UC. Schools will allow Bookstore purchases dependent on other financial aid/scholarships applied first.
DOES THE DUAL CREDIT SCHOLARSHIP INCLUDE BOOKSTORE TEXTBOOK PURCHASES UP TO $300?
No – The dual credit scholarship offered through HCC and paid by B2C@HCC is only for tuition for one class and only up to $300.
HOW IS THE DUAL CREDIT SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT HANDLED GIVEN A TOTAL SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT AVAILABLE OF $4,000 IN EIGHT CONTINUOUS SEMESTERS OF COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY?
Any amount expended for dual credit tuition is subtracted from the first semester’s scholarship of $500 before that scholarship is awarded. HCC will notify B2C/UC of student payments at end of each year so value can be removed from first semester of scholarship.
ARE BOTH SCHOLARSHIPS LAST AID APPLIED?
Yes - Any other scholarship earned by the student will need to be included in the New Student Information Form.
WILL JUNIORS/SENIORS BE ABLE TO USE THE B2C SCHOLARSHIP FOR EARLY COLLEGE ACADEMY?
If a student qualifies for early college through Henderson Community College (HCC) in their junior or senior year at UCHS and also qualilifies under B2C criterias of GPA, attendance and non-displaniary issues, the student would be eligible for up to $500 per semister to be used for tutition at HCC. These dollars will be counted as part of the $4,000 maximum allowed per qualified student under B2C.
MUST STUDENTS MAINTAIN A CUMULATIVE 2.5 GPA WHILE IN COLLEGE? HOW DO STUDENTS REPORT THEIR GRADES?
Yes, if cumulative GPA falls below 2.5, the student loses the scholarship.
If attending HCC, college will automatically provide information to B2C to continue the scholarship. If attending other colleges, student must provide a copy of unofficial transcript of the grades along with a copy of the tuition invoice at least 15 days prior to payment date of your invoice. WHAT HAPPENS IF A STUDENT DROPS ALL THEIR COLLEGE CLASSES BUT THEN KEEP THEIR CURRENT GPA?
Students may not drop all classes and retain eligibility; they must complete a minimum of 6 credit hours in the term and their cumulative GPA must remain at 2.5 or higher.
MAY STUDENTS APPEAL A LATER TERM START IN COLLEGE IF THERE HAS BEEN SICKNESS OR INJURY OR FAMILY ISSUES?

HOW MANY COLLEGE CREDIT HOURS MUST STUDENTS TAKE PER TERM?
Students should be taking at least 6 credit hours to move them towards a completion.
IS THE SCHOLARSHIP PRO-RATED FOR FEWER/MORE HOURS? IF SO, WHAT IS THE RATE?
The scholarship is not pro-rated dependent on the number of hours the student takes; however, it is dependent on student’s cumulative GPA and requires that the scholarship is last aid applied.
WHEN ARE FUNDS SENT TO THE UNIVERSITY BURSAR OR FINANCIAL AID OFFICE FOR EACH B2C/UC STUDENT? WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS?
At Henderson Community College, scholarship is automatically applied through B2C@HCC. At other colleges, B2C@UC will work with the colleges. Graduating seniors must complete the New Student Information Form by June 30. On-going college students must apply by June 15 for upcoming fall semester by filing out the On-going college student form. A scholarship check will be sent to the receiving university by Aug. 1.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE STUDENT CHOOSES TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER COLLEGE?
Any student transferring from HCC or a university to a different institution will have to apply to B2C@UC via the transfer form. The transfer must take place the immediate following semester, i.e., if the student takes classes at HCC in the fall term and then transfers to WKU, the WKU enrollment must be the following spring term.

However, there are no matching funds available for your donation at this time.
